The author, a former Captain in the Irish army, discusses all the evidence know about the death of Michael Collins on August 22 1922 in a clear and concise manner. He discounts a few theories and shows how amazingly different many of the accounts of that infamous day were. While he admits there is no way anyone can with certainty based on know evidence say for sure who or how Michael Collins was killed. But he does clearly show that without a doubt the government of the day did lead a cover up operation which included destroying documents. If there was nothing sinister why the cover up? Also the author shows that the Cap on display in the national museum in Dublin claiming to be the cap Michael Collins wore that day is in fact not Michael Collins cap. All in all a highly recommended read for anyone interested in 20th century Irish history.
