By the age of 17, her talents and determination had won her a national art prize for sculpting.Ades is comfortable working in a variety of media--pen and ink, watercolor, tempera, textile, and oil. Her preference is oil painting, and her favorite subjects are flowers, horses, and landscapes. She began authoring Walter foster books after obtaining a degree in art during her retirement. Ades continues to paint from her home in southern California.
