A Year In The Maine Woods
Heinrich's dream was to focus on one small place and get to know it in intimate detail. He cut the logs for a cabin in the woods, dragging them into place with oxen, and then, alone except for his pet raven Jack, without electricity or running water, settled in to rediscover the meaning of peace and quiet and harmony with nature--rediscovering what it means to be alive.
