A Word a Day, Grades 1-3

Build vocabulary and promote critical thinking with A Word a Day, Primary. This book features two exercises for each word: * The first exercise:requires students to identify features that are and are not attributes of the target word. (One of the most effective ways to help students identify subtleties of meaning is to identify attributes that do not apply.) * The second exercise:connects students with the word by asking them to share an opinion, personal experience, or other comment that demonstrates their understanding of the new word. An additional feature: * reproducible patterns for creating individual word books * teacher instructions for making and using word books are given.
