He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Purdue University. Jim has worked as a computer security consultant to various private and governmental organizations, including the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He was a consultant on the Strategic Defense Initiative ("Star Wars") project and served as a member of the computer security oversight committee.Richard Newmark is a Professor of Accounting in the Kenneth W. Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado. He is the author or co-author of over a dozen articles and three dozen presentations on accounting information systems, teaching pedagogy, distance learning, technology in the classroom, and taxation.
