It is my duty to remind you of the approaching Memorial day, and again enjoin its observance by the common schools. It is a matter of just pride that no exhortation to this duty is needed by the: teachers of Illinois. The common school stands by the flag, and is ready at all times to join with those who would honor its defenders.
