About the Author Dr. Joan Carol Harlan is a Professor Emeriti of Elementary Education, The University of Mississippi. This is her eleventh book that pertains to the behaviors of children and adults. She is a sought-after consultant about classroom and behavior management and has hundreds of professional publications and presentations related to the behaviors of children, teachers, and parents. Dr. Harlan, along with her husband, Dr. Grady Edward Harlan, Professor Emeritus of Counseling and Educational Psychology, The University of Mississippi, are the proud parents of five children.
