Biblical Worldview Rhetoric 1: Student Version

Classical high school Rhetoric curriculum for the home school or Christian school. This is the first year of a two-year Rhetoric course, used in classical schools such as New Covenant Christian (MI), Providence Extension Program (OH and FL), and at The Potter's School's online classroom. This text takes the upper high school student through Aristotle's Five Canons of Rhetoric and focuses on excellent writing and deep, biblical thinking. We study the persuasive discourses of some of the great (and not-so-great) speakers and writers across the ages. Biblical Worldview Rhetoric 2 will cover more of the Five Canons, and it adds a public-speaking component. This text includes Assignments, Worksheets of Exercises, and an Appendix of discourses we read during the course of the year. Supplement the course with a book of historic speeches such as the one authored by Brian MacArthur.
