CENGAGE ADVANTAGE BOOKS: WORLD HISTORY, VOLUME II includes 51 maps and numerous primary source excerpts that enliven the past while introducing readers to the source material of historical scholarship.Review"[The Comparative Essays] all do a great job of integrating the world, of tying together strands from different part of the world and different disciplines. If you want students to see connections, as I do, these essays do it as well as I have ever seen. An EXCELLENT feature.""Another strength of this book is its authorship. It is true that one author can often coordinate a more unified theme to a textbook, but such unity is usually forced, because the author simply doesn't know enough about all the fields he/she is covering. The use of five experts, all working together at one university makes for a powerful cohesive text that takes account of the complexity of each area."About the AuthorJiu-Hwa Upshur received her B.A. at the University of Sydney in Australia and Ph.D. in history at the University of Michigan.
