From BooklistPicking up exactly where volume 5 left off, Eden proceeds to plop 15-year-old protagonist Elijah in the midst of gang turf wars in a big South American city that has recovered all too thoroughly from the mysterious worldwide plague of a quarter-century ago. Fortunately for Elijah, he's convenient, though highly irritating, for warring gangs, the police, and the ministry of the interior alike. The result is a relatively slow-paced installment, if anything with this much beating, shooting, and sex (Elijah gets put up in a brothel) could be considered slow. Endo's photo-assisted, variably intricate, kinetic manga realism is as dazzling as ever. --Ray Olson^BYA/M: A little sex, a lot of violence, but this is focused on a solid, believable teen protagonist.
