I had completed the conventional pre-med program at SFU but desired more training in behavioral therapies, exercise physiology, epidemiology, anatomy, etc.* I graduated in 1985 from National College of Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM), Portland, Oregon as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. This four year program qualifies for licensure as a naturopathic physician throughout North America.* I ran the Microbiology lab at NCNM for one year. I was also a teaching assistant in Clinical & Physical Diagnosis and in Neuroanatomy laboratory for two years.* I studied three years at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, Portland, Oregon to qualify in needle acupuncture and Chinese herbology. I was exposed to a wide variety of techniques, but the primary focus was in Eight Principles diagnostics and treatment style, the most mainstream in traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).* I am a duly qualified naturopathic physician licensed to practice in the Province of British Columbia since 1985 under registration # 032. I am a member in good standing of the College of Naturopathic Physicians of B.C. (CNPBC). The CNPBC is the regulatory body for the profession in the Province established by the Naturopathic Physicians Act of 1936. Naturopathy is a designated health profession under the Health Professions Act of B.C.* I am certified by the CNPBC Acupuncture Credentials Committee to practice needle acupuncture in the Province. I am certified in hyperbaric oxygen therapy.* I am a Registered Acupuncturist ( R. Ac.) with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of B.C., under registration # GA01611* I have served the naturopathic profession as Registrar of CNPBC, on its Examining Board, on its board of Directors, and as Chair and Investigator for Hyperbaric medicine. I am a founder and past board member of the B.C. Naturopathic Association.* I have been a naturopathic medical college accreditation evaluator for the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education.* I have served the public interest on the Credentialing Panel of the Tzu Chi Institute for Complementary & Alternative Medicine, on the Naturopathy Working Group at the B.C.
