As part of the Quick Look Nursing series, Growth and Development Through the Lifespan presents an overview of human growth and development from conception through later adult life using a biopsychosocial framework. This text is designed to illustrate the various ages and stages of human development. Growth and Development Through the Lifespan includes chapters on biological, psychological, and social information. The biological chapters include genetics, fetal development, teratogens, nutritional requirements, physical milestones during childhood, puberty, normal physical changes that occur with aging, and risk factors for illness. Psychological chapters include major theories of development, including Freud, Erikson, and Piaget. Normative development of cognition and information processing, motivation, and moral reasoning are covered, as are developmental differences and mental health problems.
