She recently retired from teaching and is currently at work on a master?s degree in history at the University of Texas.Michael Keene (Ph.D., University of Texas, Austin) was one of Maxine Hairston?s doctoral students and is now professor of English at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is the author of several other textbooks, among them Easy Access and The Heath Guide to Writing.
