She taught high school chemistry in both public and private schools, including four years at the American Community School in Beirut, Lebanon. At Oklahoma State University she coordinated the general chemistry teaching laboratories and taught in the general chemistry program. Currently she is Program Coordinator for the Center for Precollegiate Studies and Outreach at the University of Northern Colorado. She is the author ofChemistry: The Experience, a Lab manual for non-science majors which employs the guided inquiry method of learning (John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 1993).David F. Dever recieved his bachelor's degree at Spring Hill College, Master's degree from The Florida State University, and was a graduate school colleague of Carl H. Snyder ( the author of The Extraordinary Chemistry of Ordinary Things) while they were both earning their PhDs at The Ohio state University in the late fifties. He worked at the Los Alamos Scientific laboratory as a research fellow, the U.S. Bureau of Mines as a project leader in air-pollution research, and helped start an engineering college on the Persian Gulf for the Saudi Arab Government. He taught 34 years at Macon State College and is now retired.
