These marriages cover the years 17341898. Considering South Carolina did not keep official Vital Records until 1911. Mr. Pursley's sources for producing such a work were: family Bibles, genealogies, newspapers, church records, personal papers of clergymen, probate records, tombstones, journals and other sources that are not readily available to the average researcher.
