Vor allem die KernresonanzSpektroskopie (NMR) ist zu einem aufierst wichtigen Hilfsmittel des Chemikers geworden. Seit dem Erscheinen des ersten kommerziellen NMRSpektrometers (1952) bis zum Ende der Sechziger Jahre beschrankte sich der Anwen dungsbereich der NMRSpektroskopie aus Empfindlichkeitsgrunden in der organischen Chemie hauptsachlich auf IHNMRSpektren, in der anorganischen Chemie daruber hinaus auf "B_, 19F_ und 31p_ NMRSpektren. Der urn das Jahr 1965 einsetzende technologische Fortschritt erlaubte die Entwicklung von leistungsfahigen IlCNMR Spektrometern, die seit 1969 auf dem Markt sind. Seitdem ist die 13C_ NMRSpektroskopie zu einer bedeutenden analytischen Technik ge worden und ist der IHNMRSpektroskopie zumindest ebenbUrtig. Sie wird inzwischen routinemaBig bei der StrukturaufkIarung unbekann ter Molekule eingesetzt, und es erscheint daher wichtig, daB ein Che miker schon wahrend seiner Ausbildung mit dieser Methode vertraut gemacht wird. Das vorliegende Taschenbuch solI auf elementarem Niveau eine Ein fUhrung fUr den deutschsprachigen Studenten geben und ihn nach der Lekture in die Lage versetzen, die 13CNMRSpektroskopie bei seiner Arbeit praktisch zu nutzen. Zugleich sollen die hier vermittelten Grundlagen den Einstieg in die weiterfUhrende Literatur erleichtern. Eine gewisse Vertrautheit mit den Grundzugen der IHNMRSpektro skopie (vgl. Au/tIDudek, ProtonenKernresonanzSpektroskopie, UTB 842) ware beim Studium des vorliegenden Buches vorteilhaft.
