J. Michael Leonard has transcribed two excellent editions of the Bach Partitas, one for flute and one for clarinet. I took the partitas from those volumes and transcribed them for guitar. My goal was to make these absolutely beautiful pieces of music accessible for the guitarist who may not be a virtuoso in ability. Where necessary I transcribed the pieces into guitar friendly keys and edited the articulation markings so that the slurs and ornamentations would lay well on the guitar fingerboard. The pieces may be performed by either a fingerstyle or classic guitarist or with the use of a flatpick. I hope you have many hours of enjoyment playing these pieces or performing them in concert, recital or festival.
