Das Prasidium der Deutschen Gesellschaft fur Unfallchirurgie hat beschlossen, erstmals auf den KongreBband, der bis zur 59. Jahrestagung herausgegeben wurde, zu verzichten. Statt des sen wurde der vorliegende Abstractband urnfangreicher und reprasentativer gestaltet. Die Kurzfassungen aller auf dem KongreB gehaltenen wissenschaftlichen Vortrage und der ausgestellten Poster werden in diesem Band publiziert. Die anlaBlich der 'Feierlichen Er offnung' und des 'AbschluBforums' der 60. Jahrestagung vorgesehenen Beitrage erschei nen in den Mitteilungen und Nachrichten der Deutschen Gesellschaft fur Unfallchirurgie, die jedes Mitglied erhiilt. Offensichtlich hat eine so urnfassende Veranstaltung wie die Jah restagung unserer Gesellschaft, nicht an Attraktivitat verloren. Das kornrnt wohl daher, daB sich die U nfallchirurgen immer eines guten kollegialen Selbstverstiindnisses erfreuten und eine solche Veranstaltung eine breite Plattform fur Informationen, Diskussionen und viel faltige Begegnungen darstellt. Die sehr umfangreiche Prasentation der Industrie und die Durchfiihrung spezieller Industrieforen bereichern unseren KongreB wesentlich. Das vor geschlagene wissenschaftliche Prograrnrn orientiert sich an aktuellen Themen. Die hohe Zahl von Vortragsmeldungen sowie Posterund Videoangeboten hat uns die Akzeptanz der empfohlenen Themen bestatigt. Die Plenarthemen behandeln operative Konzepte fur die Oberschenkelbruche aller Etagen und beruhren darnit eine stiindige Aufgabe fur Kran kenhauser aller Strukturen. Strategien der Wiederherstellung oder Verbesserung der Funktion bei Spatschaden, besonders nach Polytraurnata, werden hinsichtlich von Indika tionen und Methoden dargestellt. Ein anderes Thema betrifft Verfahren, die die Effizienz diverser Induktionen der Heilungsprozesse betreffen.'
