Master storyteller Michael Foreman has created a timely and moving story of a child creating a garden of hope in the midst of poverty and war.Master storyteller Michael Foreman has created a timely and moving story of a child creating a garden of hope in the midst of poverty and war. A boys world is ruin and rubble, with a wire fence and soldiers separating him from the cool hills where his father used to take him as a small child. Can a tiny, green plant shoot give him hope in a bleak landscape?

The story is really touching, but I found some parts a little long for my 4-year-old's attention span. Still, the illustrations are gorgeous and my child enjoys it, just needs to break it up a bit!

Great gift for my niece
I bought this book as a gift for my niece's birthday. She seemed to love it, especially the hopeful theme. The only downside is that the pages are a bit thin, so I hope they hold up over time!

Disappointed with the condition
I was really excited to get 'A Child's Garden,' but it arrived with a few bent pages. The story is sweet, but I expected better packaging. Just a bummer overall.

Inspiring story for kids
'A Child's Garden: A Story of Hope' is such a beautifully illustrated book. My kids love the colorful pictures and the message of hope is perfect for bedtime stories. We read it together every night now!
