Frances Wright was an author, a feminist, a humanist, a naturalist philosopher andlike her friend Thomas Jeffersona disciple of Epicurus. In this didactic novel, she bears witness to the noble philosophy and materialist ethics of personal happiness that nurtured them both. A FEW DAYS IN ATHENS is a challenge to cultivate a mind without bias, to hold truth in high regard, to honor the innocence of others, and to love the wholesome virtues and human values within an entirely secular context. It is a rare pearl in the treasure of the intellectual legacy of the West.

I found the book to be quite interesting, but it did drag a bit in some sections. The exploration of Epicurean philosophy was enlightening, yet I wished for more engaging narratives. Still, worth a read if you enjoy philosophy.

Decent but Not What I Expected
I was excited to read this but found it a bit dry. The philosophical insights are good for anyone interested, but I was hoping for more travel tips. It’s still a decent read if you like deep dives into concepts.

Perfect Gift for Philosophy Lovers
I bought this edition for my friend who loves Epicurus and philosophy. They were thrilled and said it provided a fresh take on Athens. The binding and print quality are excellent too!

A Must-Read for Travelers to Athens!
This book is a gem! It beautifully captures the essence of Athens, blending history and philosophy. I couldn't put it down while sipping coffee at a café on my trip. Highly enriching!

Disappointing Print Quality
I expected more from this edition. The content is good, but the print quality is subpar. Some pages looked faded, which took away from the reading experience. Hope they improve this in the future.
