Product DescriptionGrace Jones, artist, designer, and interior decorator, notable not so much for what she discovered of color, beauty, and balance as for how she used her talent. From her base in the Pacific Northwest, she chose clients of diverse natures and helped them achieve the harmony they sought. Along the way, they shared insights, understanding, and lots of laughter. Many lives were enlarged.Grace was born in the Victorian era of British parents. In childhood, she almost lost herself under pressure to live dutifully and selflessly. She recovered with the help of her adventurous yet wise mother who showed her how to combine creed and creativity. Support came, too, from a man uniquely devoted to her from age 18 to 83.Nobody saw more clearly how Grace touched many lives than the author, her niece and adopted daughter.About the AuthorM. G. Bassett, journalist and lawyer, wrote for The Washington Post, The Washington Star, and King Features Syndicate in Washington, D.C., from 1952 to 1976, with frequent breaks for study and travel. Covering Congress, the White House, and political campaigns, she also served as Assistant Cabinet Secretary for Republican President Gerald Ford and as Assistant Campaign Manager for Democratic Presidential Candidate Eugene McCarthy. The author won a number of newspaper awards, had a oneonone radio interview program, and often appeared on television news panels. Her work also includes studies for foundations and institutes. She was graduated from Whitman College, the Columbia University Pulitzer School of Journalism, the Georgetown University Law Center, and attended the University of Michigan Law School. In Europe, she studied at the University of Paris and the University of Frankfurt. She was born in Spokane; grew up in Okanogan, Washington; was the granddaughter of Grace's British parents; and on the Bassett side, descended from early comers to New England.
