Dr. Richard Aubrey McLemore, Director of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, served as editor of this massive project. The financial support was provided by the State of Mississippi, the Mississippi Historical Society, the Department of Archives and History, the three universities of Mississippi, and the University and College Press of Mississippi.
