Product Description If little is known about James Huckins, then historical material about his fellow missionary, pastor, and Baylor University cofounder William Milton Tryon is nearly nonexistent. The pictographic record is sparse, and the history of his life is largely confined to the sevenyear period he spent leading Baptist denominations in the state of Texas. Yet, as Eugene W. Baker's compassionate tale illustrates, Tryon, who was the first to dream of Baylor as an institution of Christian higher learning, left a longfelt legacy among his contemporaries and those Baptists yet to come. About the Author Eugene W. Baker was Baylor University historian from 1981 to 1995 and is the author of To Light the Ways of Time and As We Onward Go: Baylor University in the 21st Century.
