This book highlights how a community based partneship model can be used to improve the care environment of young children from birth to 8 years. The model demostrates the applicability of a combined effort of the community and other development agencies (e.g. NGOs, faith based organizations and government) in the care process of young children. Focus is directed on key issues of indigenous knowledge as a way to enhance livelihood of the households with young children. Education and health issues are discussed based on evaluated results and changes that may have come over time since the implementation of the Pamoja! project in Kenya. The project utilized youth, community structures and ECDE teachers as change agents. The content of this book would be relevant to organizations and institutions targeting community for change and professional evaluation experts.
