This readerfriendly introduction to the theory that underlies the many fascinating properties of solids assumes only an elementary knowledge of quantum mechanics. Taylor and Heinonen describe the methods for performing calculations and making predictions of some of the many complex phenomena that occur in solids and quantum liquids. Their book, aimed at advanced undergraduates and beginning graduate students, leads the reader from the fundamental behavior of electrons and atoms in solids to the most recently explored manifestations of the quantum nature of condensed matter.

This book is not light reading! While it has great content and is well-organized, I struggled with some sections due to the density of information. Still, it's definitely a valuable addition for anyone serious about condensed matter physics.

A Deep Dive into Physics Concepts
This book offers a really comprehensive look at condensed matter physics, which is just what I needed for my studies. I appreciate how the author explains complex topics clearly. Perfect for graduate students who want thorough insights!

Great Resource but Dense
I found 'A Quantum Approach to Condensed Matter Physics' has great insights, but it's quite heavy on the math. It took me some time to digest, but if you're willing to put in the effort, there's a lot of good information here. Just be prepared to read slowly!

Fantastic Reference for Researchers
As a researcher, I found this book incredibly useful. It has a lot of current theories and research insights that I'm applying to my own work. The explanations are clear, and the references are top-notch. A must-have for anyone in the field!

Not for Beginners
I'm a physics undergrad, and I bought this hoping to get a clearer understanding of the subject. Sadly, I found it too advanced for my level. There are some useful sections, but it's more suited for people with a solid background in quantum mechanics.
