For centuries Christians have held that Christ is the mediator of salvation for all humankind. The other major world religions were considered ignorant of, rejecting, or potential converts to, the salvation that Christ came to bring. Christ was understood as the exclusive and final revelation of God. John Hick denies this interpretation of salvation. For him salvation is not exclusively a Christian experience and Christ is not the only saviour. This book examines and challenges evidence that a deeper appreciation of the biblical language of myth and metaphor yields a different interpretation.
