The highquality objects of John Painters collection are displayed in an exhibition at the Cincinnati Art Museum in 20022003, for which this is the catalog. Goodquality color plates feature cradles, knives and sheaths, necklaces, bags, and similar objects, all highly decorated and many dating before 1850, representing the handicraft of many Native American tribes, including Northern Plains, Cree, Cheyenne, Great Lakes, Seminole, Kiowa, and Seneca.
