In einem ersten Teil wird ein berblick ber die Geschichte der Menschheit und ihrer Abflle gegeben. Der beschrittene Weg in Europa wird aufgezeigt und die heutige Gesetzgebung in der Schweiz aber auch in Europa erlutert. Ein Blick ber die europischen Grenzen hinaus auf andere Kontinente zeigt, dass die dortigen Bewohner heute mit den gleichen Problemen kmpfen, wie sie Europa zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts kannte. Der zweite Teil befasst sich nher mit der Abfalldefinition, den technischen Mglichkeiten um Abflle zu recyclieren und den Verfahren, um nicht wieder verwertbare Abflle so zu behandeln, dass sie kologisch sicher zurck in die natrliche Umgebung gebracht werden knnen. Dabei wird sowohl auf kommunale wie auch industrielle Abflle eingegangen. Ebenfalls werden Spezialgebiete wie Sonderabflle, Klrschlamm, die Deponieproblematik oder biogene Abflle beleuchtet.About the AuthorMartin F. Lemann studierte Maschinenbau und Verfahrenstechnik an der Eidgenssischen Technischen Hochschule in Zrich ETHZ. Von 1979 bis 2000 arbeitete er bei verschiedenen Unternehmungen als Ingenieur, Projektleiter und Fhrungskraft. Heute fhrt er selbstndig die Firma AVUT Consulting. Seit 1990 lehrt er Abfalltechnik an der ETH Zrich. Neben dem Buch Verfahrenstechnik und Umwelt verffentlichte er zahlreiche Artikel zum Thema. Wolfgang Neumann studierte Maschinenbau und Verfahrenstechnik an der RheinischWestflischen Technischen Hochschule in Aachen. Im Bereich der Abfallwirtschaft erstellte er u. a. das Verwertungs und Entsorgungskonzept der am Rckbau der Sondermlldeponie Klliken, SMDK, beteiligten Firmen. Wolfgang Neumann ist Dozent am Bildungszentrum fr Technologie und Management SFB in Dietikon und Inhaber der W.Neumann Consult AG.
