Dabei zeigen sich signifikante organisatorische Differenzen. So verkrpern beide Parteien in den alten Bundeslndern noch immer den Typus der Volkspartei mit Massenbasis, wenngleich sich aufgrund anhaltender Mitgliederverluste ein Abschied von dieser Organisationsform abzeichnet. Demgegenber haben die Parteien in den neuen Lndern dieses Stadium nie erreicht und reprsentieren als sogenannte Rahmenverbnde einen anderen Parteiorganisationstypus.
