Die ersten Absehnitte dieses Buehes bringen die Herstellung und die Reaktionen der Monomeren, es folgen Analytik und Umgang mit den RohstofIen und ein Kapitel tiber die physikalisehen Eigensehaften der Monomeren, die in mehreren Tabellen zusammengefaBt sind. Die Herstellung der Monomeren dureh Oxydation von Olefinen ge winnt immer mehr an Bedeutung, weshalb diesen modernen Verfahren ein besonderes Kapitel mit einer ausfiihrlichen Literaturzusammenstel lung gewidmet ist. Dureh die vorliegende Einteilung sollte das Gemeinsame der Aeryl und Methaerylverbindungen besonders betont und Uberschneidungen vermieden werden. An den Monomerenteil schlie Ben sieh die Kapitel tiber Polymerisation im allgemeinen und tiber die einzelnen Polymerisate an.
