Obra que describe las caractersticas actitudinales de estudiantes universitarios hacia la matemtica, as como sus conductas autorreguladoras. El estudio se realiz en universidades privadas y pblicas e incluy carreras con distintos grados de contenido matemtico. Sus resultados condujeron al establecimiento de las posibles relaciones entre esas variables y a la definicin de perfiles segn esos factores. En general se evidenci que estudiantes en carreras con contenido matemtico medio/bajo y desempeo medio/bajo en matemtica, reportaron actitudes positivas hacia la asignatura, no as para sus mtodos de enseanzaaprendizaje, o para la autovaloracin de sus competencias en matemtica. Todos los grupos reportaron actitudes negativas hacia el proceso de enseanza de la asignatura y acerca de sus competencias para aprehender el conocimiento matemtico. Tambin todos utilizaron estrategias autorreguladoras, se diferenciaron en la frecuencia y sistemtica de uso en todas las fases. Estos resultados permiten delinear nuevos abordajes en el proceso de la enseanzaaprendizaje de la matemtica e impulsar la apertura de nuevas lneas de investigacin.
