Los comportamientos de prctica fsicodeportiva de tiempo libre de los jvenes universitarios no se ajustan suficientemente a las recomendaciones de un estilo de vida activo que sea favorable para su salud. La investigacin se articula sobre el anlisis de los correlatos (determinantes) que se asocian con la prctica en los estudiantes de la Universidad de Guadalajara (Mxico). Analizando los aspectos cualitativos (practican, abandonan y no participan) y cuantitativos (frecuencia, duracin, intensidad y nivel de prctica). Tambin se revisan los motivos que llevan al estudiantado a realizar prctica fsicodeportiva durante su tiempo libre, as como las motivaciones intrnsecas y extrnsecas. Se indaga sobre los motivos que afectan la continuidad en la prctica y conducen al estudiantado a declinar en su participacin. Finalmente, se examinan las barreras que han obstaculizado la participacin de los jvenes que nunca han realizado prctica de tiempo libre, analizado que variables internas y externas afectan en mayor medida.
