Product DescriptionIf you enjoy stories, you will love Susan Scheids After Enchantment. You meet Prince Charming, now a Buddhist, and Jesus, over coffee. Sleeping Beauty has insomnia, the Wicked Witch apologizes, the Big Bad Wolf even sneaks in through the dark. Beautifully illustrated with watercolor images painted by the authors sister, Elizabeth Scheid, this is not your ordinary poetry collection, but a true artistic collaboration that you will want to read over and over again. As Joseph Ross, author of Meeting Bone Man, states: The comforting stories we learned as children collide with the ragged world we inhabit as adults. Make no mistake: these are not childrens stories. Scheids poems are essential stories. Her poems speak from both sides of every prison wall, from Mexico, Chile, and Haiti. Read these poems and you might just live happily ever after.About the AuthorSusan Scheid is part of the vibrant poetry community in Washington, DC. She writes with an eye for the absurd and a conscience for social justice. Her previous publications include Tidal Basin Review, Requiem, Rose Red Review, The Unrorean, Bark!, Bark Two, and the chapbook Poetic Art. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology, teaches writing workshops and was ArtistinResidence at the Noyes School of Rhythm in Connecticut. She lives with her three cats, two sons and one husband in the Brookland area of DC, where she contributes to neighborhood character through her writing, garden and quirky sense of humor.
