Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit befasst sich im ersten Teil mit den Entwicklungen der Urbanisierung seit den 60er Jahren. Konkret wird auf den Stadtumbau und insbesondere auf die Revitalisierung der Zentren eingegangen. Der Versuch ein Bild der zeitgenssischen Stadt zu erzeugen erweist sich durch zunehmende Entortung als uerst diffizil. Die Bedeutung ffentlicher Rume fr die Stadt wird errtert und deren Entwicklung, wie beispielsweise pseudoffentliche Rume und die gegenseitige Durchdringung von ffentlichkeit und Privatheit, beschrieben. Anhand temporrer Nutzungen werden Lsungen fr aktuelle Probleme der Stadtentwicklung dargelegt. Abschlieend werden die Auswirkungen modernen Nomadentums auf die Stadt und insbesondere auf das Konzept des Hotels betrachtet. Der zweite Teil dieser Diplomarbeit beschftigt sich mit der Analyse des Andreas Hofer Platzes in Graz. Neben den historischen Bedingungen, werden die aktuelle stdtebauliche Situation, die angrenzende Mur, die rechtliche Situation sowie der allgegenwrtige Verkehr behandelt. Abschlieend werden die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse in einem konkreten Bebauungsvorschlag angewandt.
