Besonders populr sind die Modelle von Berry, Bennett, Ward und Oberg, die zwar schon ber zwanzig Jahre alt sind, in Universitten, Schulen und anderen Bildungseinrichtungen mangels Alternativen aber noch heute gelehrt werden.Katharina Bertz zieht in ihrer vorliegenden Metaanalyse von 36 aktuellen Artikeln und Studien ber Akkulturation eine Bilanz des aktuellen Standes der Akkulturationsforschung. Sie beschftigt sich dabei vorwiegend mit den Fragen, in welcher Hinsicht die genannten Modelle noch aktuell sind und in welche Richtung die Akkulturationsforschung geht. Das recht erstaunliche Ergebnis zeigt, dass es noch kaum Alternativen zu diesen Modellen gibt und Berrys Modell die Forschung noch immer berraschend stark dominiert, aber auch Tendenzen hin zu einem differenzierteren, dialogischeren Verstndnis von Akkulturation sichtbar werden.Forscher und Interessierte bekommen einen fundierten und gleichzeitig detaillierten berblick ber Tendenzen und Entwicklung der aktuellen Akkulturationsforschung.
