Wie sie sich den Anforderungen des sozialen und konomischen Wandels stellt, beziehungsweise welche Strategien die Soziale Arbeit whlt um ihm zu begegnen soll das Thema dieser Arbeit sein. Auf dem Hintergrund einer sich wandelnden Gesellschaft, soll die Positionierung der Sozialen Arbeit in einem Aktivierenden Staat' herausgearbeitet und mit Blick auf ihre Professionalitt kritisch betrachtet werden. Die Zugrunde liegende Fragestellung lautet: Welche Rolle nimmt die Sozialpdagogik im 'Aktivierenden Sozialstaat' ein und welche Vernderungen ergeben sich durch eine 'Aktivierende Sozialpdagogik' fr die Profession? Fr dieses Bestreben wird in einem ersten Teil zunchst das Augenmerk auf die Entstehung der Sozialpolitik und die Krise des Wohlfahrtstaates, beziehungsweise der fordistischen Formation gelenkt. Die Neue Ausrichtung des Wohlfahrtsstaates zu einem Aktivierenden Sozialstaat' und die Auseinandersetzung mit Kernelementen einer Aktivierungspolitik' bilden gewissermaen den bergang zu einem zweiten Teil dieser wissenschaftlichen Arbeit. Mit Hilfe einer aktuell verbreiteten Methode der Sozialen Arbeit, dem CaseManagement sollen Gefahren der sich entwickelnden Aktivierten Sozialen Arbeit' aufgezeigt werden und zugleich Forderungen an eine reflexive Soziale Arbeit formuliert werden. Begonnen wird nun zunchst mit einer begrifflichen Heranfhrung an das Thema.
