Als Angiogenese wird der Proze der Bildung neuer Blutkapillaren bezeichnet. Angiogenese findet sowohl whrend der Embryonalentwicklung als auch post embryonal im Rahmen vieler physiologischer und pathologischer Situationen statt. Das Tumorwachstum ist von der Angiogenese abhngig. In der Physiolo gie der weiblichen Fortpflanzungsorgane spielt die fortlaufende Neubildung von Blutgefen eine besondere Rolle. Der zell biologische Mechanismus der Angiogenese scheint unabhngig von Ort und Stimulus weitgehend einem einheitlichen Prinzip zu folgen. Bestimmte Signalsubstanzen lsen die Angiogenese aus. Sie werden Angiogenesefaktoren oder mediatoren genannt. Der aus aktivierten Monozyten (Makrophagen) gewonnene Angiogenese faktor Monozytoangiotropin (MA T) fhrt in vivo bereits in Pikogrammengen in allen untersuchten Geweben und Spezies zur Gefneubildung. Geklonte Kapillarendothelzellen werden durch MA T zur Migration angeregt und formie ren sich unter dem Einflu dieses Monokins in vitro zu kapillarhnlichen Strukturen. Die durch intradermale Injektion von MA T hervorgerufene Hypervaskula risation lie sich in einem Autotransplantationsmodell in der Kaninchenhaut therapeutisch zur Verhinderung ischmischer Nekrosen im transplantierten Hautlappen nutzen. Aufgrund ihrer Wirkungsweise lassen Angiogenesemediatoren und inhibi toren breite Anwendungsmglichkeiten in nahezu allen klinischen Disziplinen erwarten. Fr die gynkologische Diagnostik erscheint die Erfassung von Ge fneubildungsprozessen als prneoplastischer Marker interessant. Im Rahmen der geburtshilflichen Diagnostik knnten durch Bestimmung von Angiogenese faktoren Vaskularisationsstrungen der Plazenta frhzeitig erkannt werden. Solche Plazentavaskularisationsstrungen, die zu schweren perinatalen Kom plikationen fhren knnen, lassen sich mglicherweise durch geeignete Gabe bestimmter Angiogenesefaktoren therapieren. Durch lokale Applikation von Angiogenesefaktoren ins Endometrium liee sich eine hypervaskularisierte Zo ne mit besseren Implantationsbedingungen fr eine in vitro fertilisierte Eizelle schaffen.
