Gold Dredge No. 8 is one of the most significant relics of mining history in Alaska. Today she sits in the Goldstream Valley just north of Fairbanks, where the giant floating mechanical monster once chewed up the ground in her path, removed the gold, and spit out rock tailings behind her as she floated across a pond that she took with her as she glided across the landscape.
