Product Description This book contains three long stories about life and love; the dialogue unfolds as three women talk about their experiences. These tales may not present answers to the riddles of the universe, but they do detail how three women managed to survive, in part because of their own hard efforts and in part because of the way luck worked for them. That is where the ideas hinted at in the title All Bets Are On Me: Three Stories of Survival comes into play. The women showed gumption as well as a knack for prevailing in games of chance: the stock market, the lottery, and the ecommerce whirlwind. They each tell their story with their own brand of honesty and humor.Harriet Tramer is now an instructor at the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University. She came to that position after many years of being a student herself and after numerous years of writing, mostly for newspapers in the Cleveland, Ohio area but sometimes just to write. The stories come from her observations on the world more than from any time spent in the classroom. About the Author I teach at the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs (part of Cleveland State University). Before that I was a writer at the Cleveland Press and still free lance for other papers in the Cleveland area. This is my first fiction work, being prompted by my belief that life often works by happenstance rather than intent.
