Es wird deutlich, welche Ausnahmestellung die Protagonistin einnahm und warum sie heute nahezu vergessen ist. Das Buch ist mehr als eine Biographie, es ist ein Schlssel zum Einblick in eine scheinbar untergegangen, aber zu Unrecht vergessene Epoche der deutschsprachigen Medizn. Kurzbiographien zu wichtigen Personen im Text erleichtern den Zugang, ebenso eine umfangreiche Literaturliste. Der Autor scheut sich nicht, auf Mistnde in der Forschung hinzuweisen und hofft, da seine Ausfhrungen zu Diskussionen und weiteren Studien einladen.
