About the Author Martin Egidius (Aebli), 1953 in Basel geboren, wchst als ltester von drei Shnen in Zrich auf. Nach dem Jurastudium an der Universitt Zrich lebt er zwei Jahre in der Toskana und in Umbrien, wo er sich in Perugia an der Universit Per Stranieri zum Sprachlehrer (Italienisch) weiterbildet. Erste grere schriftstellerische Arbeiten entstehen. Zurck in Zrich, unterrichtet er zunchst Italienisch, spter Allgemeinbildung an Berufsschulen und danach Wirtschaft und Recht, Philosophie und Fremdsprachen an der Berufsmaturittsschule in Zrich. Unmittelbar nach seinem Italienaufenthalt belegt er ab Herbst 1981 sechs Jahre lang an der Jazzschule Luzern Instrumentalunterricht in Saxofon und Klavier sowie Theorie (Harmonielehre und Rhythmik). Daneben spielt er als Saxofonist in zwei Jazzrockbands. Martin Egidius lebt in Herrliberg bei Zrich. Auer dem Roman Zu vorgerckter Stunde sind bei BoD der Roman Am Abgrund und der Erzhlband Perdido De Viaje erschienen.
