About the Author Linda Falkner is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She has a Bachelor's degree in Speech Therapy and a Master's degree in Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling. Americans Lost is based on research she did while trying to help a foster child described in her first book, I Would Be Loved. Linda is presently living in Florida with her teenage son and completing a third book. Product Description In 1994, Linda Falkner began calling homeless shelters and mental health programs, trying to find help for her homeless, mentally ill foster daughter. During this process, she became interested in learning more about homeless people and began research on this book, not only by reading, but also by interviewing homeless people, and those who help them. Halfway through the book, her life turned in another direction, and the manuscript was setaside for seven years. Late in the summer of 2001, Linda returned to the streets with her taperecorder and this time she had a new question ?
