This textbook on mathematical biology is designed for students with no previous background in biology and very little background in mathematics. It teaches the two subjects as equal and interrelated subjects, and it uses the powerful Maple computer algebra system as a tool in solving the computational and graphing problems. The use of the Maple system allows a handson approach to computation, and this provides a source of information through the use of what if scenarios, allowing students to grasp important biological and mathematical concepts. For students who do not have access to a computer algebra system, each topic is complete without the use of either numerical or symbolic equations. Graphic visualizations are provided for all the mathematical results.

This book is a fantastic introduction for anyone studying biology. The mathematics concepts are broken down clearly, which makes it easier to grasp. I bought it for my daughter who's a biology major, and she's finding it super helpful!

Mixed feelings about the content
While the book covers some important topics, I found some sections a bit confusing. The math parts could use more examples for better understanding. It’s still a decent resource, just not perfect for everyone.

Useful but could be better
This book is quite useful for getting started in mathematical biology. The layout is decent, but some chapters could really use more visual aids. Overall, a good book, but it can be a bit dry at times.

Excellent for bridging gaps
This book really helps bridge the gap between math and biology! It's a great textbook for anyone who needs to integrate these two fields. I'm using it for my research, and it's making a big difference.

Not what I expected
I expected a more advanced math approach honestly. The content feels a bit basic, and I was hoping for deeper insights into mathematical applications in biology. Disappointed with my purchase.
