Ongoing advances in Solar System exploration continue to reveal its splendour and diversity in remarkable detail. This undergraduatelevel textbook presents fascinating descriptions and colour images of the bodies in the Solar System, the processes that occur upon and within them, and their origins and evolution. It highlights important concepts and techniques in boxed summaries, while questions and exercises are embedded at appropriate points throughout the text, with full solutions provided. Written and edited by a team of practising planetary scientists, this third edition has been updated to reflect our current knowledge. It is ideal for introductory courses on the subject, and is suitable for selfstudy. The text is supported by online resources, hosted at www.cambridge.org/solarsystem3, which include selected figures from the book, selfassessment questions and sample tutor assignments, with outlines of suggested answers.

The illustrations in this book are stunning, and it's a great way to spark interest in astronomy. However, I found the content a bit basic. It’s perfect for very young kids, but older ones might want something more comprehensive.

Arrived with a dented cover
I was excited to get 'An Introduction to the Solar System,' but it arrived with a dent on the cover. The book itself seems good for kids, but the condition it came in was disappointing. Hopefully, the content will make up for it.

A fun read for kids!
I bought 'An Introduction to the Solar System' for my 10-year-old son, and he absolutely loves it. The illustrations are vibrant and engaging, making the complex subject of space fun and approachable. It's been a great addition to his science collection!

Good, but needed more depth
This book is a nice introduction for younger readers, but I wish it had a bit more detail on the planets. My daughter enjoyed the pictures, but I think she’ll outgrow it quickly. Still, it’s a good starting point for kids interested in space.
