Summer in Italy is a ritual, a ceremony, not just for the inhabitants but for the tourists too, who come from all over the world to enjoy its landscapes, its hotels, its way of life. For thirty years Claude Nori has been photographing Italian summers by way of the legendary venues and bathing resorts of Rimini, Capri, Amalfi, Catania, Rapallo and Portofino, where he spent his own vacations as an adolescent. Today he reproduces them for us with a highly personal mastery, originality and spontaneity, thereby quenching his thirst for happy memories, much to our delight. In addition to his magnificent photographs that comprise the majority of the pages, he is the author of the accompanying short story; the volume also includes original watercolors by Yan Nascimbene.
