Apart from diabetes mellitus, endocrine diseases requiring surgical treatment are relatively uncommon. However, when they do occur, they frequently present major clinical anaesthestic problems that require extensive knowledge of the pathophysiology of the condition, and considerable anaesthetic expertise. This book provides the anaesthetist with a comprehensive examination of each of the endocrine conditions, covering underlying pathophysiological problems, and guidance on optimal anaesthetic care. It will be of use to trainee and consultant anaesthetists working in both specialist endocrine wards and general surgery wards where a patient with endocrine disease might present.

As a medical student, I found this book on anaesthesia for patients with endocrine diseases super helpful. It dives deep into the specific considerations we need to keep in mind, and the case studies really aid understanding. Definitely a must-have if you're in anaesthesia or internal medicine!

Solid information but a bit dense
The content in this book is solid, but I found some sections a bit dense and hard to follow. It covers a lot of important factors regarding endocrine diseases and anaesthesia, which is great, but I wish there were more visuals to break up the text. Not bad, but could be easier to navigate.

Some useful tips, but a few errors
I appreciate the effort put into this book, but I encountered a few errors in the charts and guidelines. It makes me second guess some of the recommendations. It's a decent reference for endocrine anaesthesia, but double-checking with other sources is a must!

Must-have for my practice
This book is a game changer for my surgical practice when dealing with endocrine patients. The guidance on dosing and management is thorough. It has helped me avoid complications and feel more confident during procedures. I’d say it’s worth every penny!
