This reference book, which has found wide use as a text, provides an answer to the needs of graduate physical mathematics students and their teachers. The present edition is a thorough revision of the first, including a new chapter entitled Connections on Principle Fibre Bundles which includes sections on holonomy, characteristic classes, invariant curvature integrals and problems on the geometry of gauge fields, monopoles, instantons, spin structure and spin connections. Many paragraphs have been rewritten, and examples and exercises added to ease the study of several chapters. The index includes over 130 entries.

I found 'Manifolds and Physics Part 1' to be a great starting point for understanding the basics. The explanations are clear, and the examples really help to visualize the concepts. I'm a physics major, and it fits perfectly into my studies!

Decent but a bit dense
This book covers a lot of important ground in manifolds, but sometimes it feels a bit overwhelming. I had to reread some sections to fully grasp the material. Still, it's a solid resource for anyone serious about the subject.

Not as user-friendly as I'd hoped
I was excited to dive into this book, but the layout isn't very approachable for beginners. Some parts felt convoluted, and I struggled with the initial chapters. Maybe it's better for those with a stronger math background.
