This book takes examples from around the world, picking through history and anthropology, showing that people have, in different ways and at different times, demonstrated mutual aid, selforganization, autonomy, horizontal decision making, and so forth the principles that anarchy is founded on regardless of whether they called themselves anarchists or not. Too well documented to be strictly mythology, and too expansive to be strictly anthropology, this is an inspiring answer to the people who say that anarchists are utopian: a pointbypoint introduction to how anarchy can and has actually worked.

I picked up this book to dive deeper into anarchist thought and it didn't disappoint. The examples are well presented, making complex ideas relatable and interesting. Definitely a great read for anyone curious about alternative social structures!

Informative but a bit dry
This book covers some fascinating anarchist ideas, but I found the writing a little dry in spots. It’s packed with examples, though, which really helps illustrate the concepts. I’m glad I read it, but it took me a while to get through it all.

Not what I expected
I was hoping for a more engaging narrative, but this book felt more like an academic text than a practical guide. The ideas are important, but the delivery wasn't as captivating as I hoped. Still, I learned a lot about anarchist practices.

Could use more practical examples
While the book discusses important anarchist ideas, I wish it included more practical, modern-day applications. Some sections felt too theoretical. Still, it’s a solid introduction for anyone wanting to learn about anarchism.

A must-read for activists
I found this book incredibly enlightening! It’s packed with real-life applications of anarchist ideas that challenge mainstream perspectives. A fantastic read for anyone involved in social movements or simply curious about different governance systems.
