In 1981 when Louise Purvis organised the first meeting of Prison Fellowship in Scotland, she little knew what she was taking on.As secretary and then coordinator of the work of visitation in 18 penal institutions, it became virtually a fulltime job.Taking probationers and remand prisoners into her home was a further example of a commitment which went beyond duty.The work has grown since those small beginnings, with over 30 support groups and a fulltime director.Now you can read about the results of that work stories of exinmates, prison visitors, warders and some 'lifers'.
