About the Author Rolf Schauss, geboren 1944 in Bad Kreuznach whrend der Evakuierung der Stadt Saarbrcken, absolvierte zunchst eine Lehre als Bromaschinenmechaniker, wurde Segelflieger, Fallschirmspringer und Berufspilot. Er lebt und arbeitet in der Nhe von Saarlouis. Erst die Bekanntschaft mit Bernd Alt verwandelten seine kursorischen Aufzeichnungen in ein Manuskript. Die fundierten Recherchen Bernd Alts, dessen beharrliches Insistieren und die stundenlangen Arbeitssitzungen in Kneipen und Cafs fhrten zu einer freundschaftlichen Beziehung. So ist nicht nur dieses Buch entstanden, sondern auch ein Expos fr einen bisher unverffentlichten Krimi und mehrere durch Bernd Alt verffentlichte Berichte ber die Fliegerei.
